Intimate, empowering portraits for women who want to see themselves differently and connect with themselves in nature. Your bare feet in the sand, the wind in your hair, the waves at your feet, and photographs that feel a little wild and entirely like yourself.
You do not need to earn this. You do not need to wait. You are already art. It is time you saw yourself as such.
Unapologetically you
There is something completely different about being photographed outside. In some ways, it feels more liberating. You can feel the sand between your toes, the wind in your hair, and the refreshing water on your legs. Instead of being hyperware of every part of your body, you’re in-tune with everything around you.
This is what makes beach boudoir so special. The wind is an unpaid actor, and the water moves calmly around you. I craft poses that incorporate the sand, surrounding rocks, and driftwood. So you aren’t standing there wondering whether your body is positioned perfectly. Instead, you have something to interact with.
A beach session is the perfect opportunity to give yourself permission to get a little messy. Your hair probably will not stay perfect. Sand will end up everywhere, as it has a tendency to do. Your clothes might get wet. And to be frank, some of the most mesmerizing photographs happen when you stop trying to stay perfectly posed and let yourself simply enjoy the experience.
The exact location of your beach experience will be chosen together upon booking based on the look you love, accessibility, privacy, and seasonal conditions.
Throughout your beach session we will photograph up to five distinct looks. I bring an outdoor changing tent, so you have privacy when you switch between outfits.
When it’s possible, I recommend scheduling beach sessions during quieter times, specifically on weekdays. With fewer people around, we have more freedom to explore different parts of the beach and create art without feeling like we are being observed by a crowd.
Similar to a studio boudoir experience, I will provide complete guidance from poses to outfits. I even have a preparation checklist, so you show up to your beach session completely prepared. Getting in the water is always optional. If you do not want to get in the water, you won’t be expected to swim. We may walk along the shoreline, let the waves come up around your legs, and photograph directly in the wet sand. A beach session does require a willingness to get a little messy. We will likely sit and lie in the sand and utilize rocks, driftwood, and other natural features of the location.
Before your experience, please let me know if you have any mobility limitations, injuries, or restrictions around water. I will always do my best to adapt the session to your body and comfort level. I continuously check in with you throughout the shoot, so if something doesn’t feel good, we can always adjust it.
Because we’re working outdoors, weather and beach conditions are part of the planning process. In Los Angeles, it is very unlikely that conditions will not be safe or workable for your session, but if they are we will adjust our plan so you have the best experience possible.
The outfit options for beach boudoir are limitless. Some of my favorites are satin dresses, bikinis, swimsuits, flowing dresses, jeans and a bralette, button-downs, lingerie, your favorite bra and panty set, or lace or sheer cover-ups. My recommendation is to choose pieces that feel like you and that you are excited to be photographed in. Beach boudoir can range from feeling soft and romantic to bold and sensual. Your five outfits do not need to have the same essence.
I also suggest bringing one outfit that pushes your comfort zone. I will never pressure you into wearing this outfit. But clients often surprise themselves and feel more comfortable during their session than they expect to. So, during your experience, if you are suddenly inclined to reach for it, I want you to have it with you.
~ Diana, Boudoir Client
I had such a great time shooting with Eli. We did a beach photo shoot, it was my first time shooting and I was a bit nervous and didn’t know what to expect but the photos came out beautiful. Also, she made me feel completely comfortable the entire time and the process just flew by. We got a lot of great shots, and she was able to guide me through it and how to pose, I highly recommend!!
Beach boudoir experiences begin with a $750 session fee, which includes pre-session planning, professional make-up, wardrobe guidance, and your fully guided photoshoot.
After your session, you will choose the photographs and artwork you adore. There is no mandatory minimum, so what you take home is entirely up to you. Most of my clients spend between $3,000 and $6,000, depending on photographs, artwork, or heirloom albums they select.
