The mainstream boudoir world tends to market themselves solely to women in their 20s and 30s — as if boudoir photography is something you do before life gets "too serious," before your body changes, before some imaginary window closes. At ELI Boudoir, I fundamentally reject that ideology. Boudoir is for older women, in fact boudoir is for all women.
Often I hear from my older clients that they are concerned about their flexibility and being able to pose properly. Let me tell you that a good boudoir photographer can adjust poses to any limitation you might have. Prior to your photoshoot, mention any mobility issues you might have prior to your photoshoot. This is one of the reasons that boudoir for older women needs to be handled with care and consideration.
Honestly, boudoir for older women is less about lingerie and “traditional boudoir” and more about creating permanent photographs. Timeless photographs that capture who you are and your journey. So often women, especially older women don’t indulge themselves and invest in experiences, like a boudoir session. Boudoir is not just a gift for yourself. It is a gift to your children and those who want to remember you down the line.
Boudoir for older women is one of my primary areas of expertise. Some of my most stunning work has been created with clients in their 50s and 60s. Both in the studio and outdoors. I work with older women from their 40s to their 70s in Los Angeles every week. In my private Los Angeles based studio, at El Matador Beach, at Placerita Canyon, and select outdoor locations across the city. I know the concerns that arise — wrinkles, loose skin, weight changes, surgical scars — and I have developed a refined approach to lighting and posing that addresses each of them with skill and honesty. I will not alter your body dramatically, because I believe that defeats the purpose of boudoir for older women. Your reveal and ordering appointment will take place two to three weeks after your session. My editing will highlight your features and make you look phenomenal without removing any features that tell your story. Your wrinkles and natural aging tell your journey and those are worth preserving. At your reveal, you will be able to select from a curated selection of heirloom albums and fine art prints. The majority of my clients in their 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond create albums as legacy gifts for their families.
All of my boudoir photoshoots run 2-3 hours. Any outdoor location we visit has been carefully scouted. If you are interested in doing an outdoor boudoir shoot, I recommend scheduling it during the week. Often popular areas are quieter! I have a portable tent, so you will have somewhere private to change no matter where we are. All you need to do is arrive and simply be yourself.
Your session begins with a full professional makeup. Arrive as yourself — leave radiant, and feeling absolutely stunning from the first moment.
For outdoor shoots like El Matador Beach, it is often easier to arrive ready to go! It all depends on your comfort doing your own make-up. Many of my older clients are more uncomfortable doing their make-up. The choice is entirely yours.
You don't need to know how to pose — I do. Boudoir for older women should be a breeze. I will guide you through every angle, every look, so every frame is something you'll love.
I guide wardrobe choices that feel authentic and flattering for the environment. Beach sessions call for different looks than trail shoots or studio sessions — flowing silk reads differently against coastal cliffs than against a neutral studio backdrop. We'll help you curate looks that work beautifully wherever we're shooting. I always recommend bringing a wide array of outfits!
At ELI Boudoir, I offer optional consultations. As a boudoir photographer, I have learned that the majority of my clients would prefer not to talk on the phone before their photoshoot. However, I want my clients to have the option to jump on the phone and dispel any lingering nerves.
On the phone call, we will talk through your intentions, comfort zones, physical considerations, and where you want to shoot. Studio? Beach? Canyon? Rooftop? A combination? We design the session around you from the start — including which setting will make you feel the most at ease and the most beautiful.
Otherwise, when you book your boudoir photoshoot, you can tell me your preference. The default is to shoot at the beautiful studio, which is just outside Culver City in Los Angeles.

I hear this from almost every session. If you needed more proof that boudoir for older women is powerful and for you, here it is. There is no “too old” for boudoir photographer, for indoor studio and outdoor photoshoots. This simply does not exist. Society has conditioned us to believe that our bodies’ worthiness and beauty expires at some arbitrary age. Furthermore, that photography is only for people who have not arrived at that imaginary, invisible threshold. This belief could not be more wrong.
At ELI Boudoir, I work with women over 40 well into their 70s and 80s, frequently. Older clients often have the most powerful sessions. They no longer carry the same self-consciousness that plagues most women in their youths. Instead, it is replaced with a strength, an integral power that stems from knowing what she wants, thinks, has lived through, and wants to get out of her boudoir experience. You can visibly see this strength in her boudoir photographs, regardless of the location. These photographs are breathtaking and ageless.

You’re right, the photographs that you capture from a boudoir session at 55, will not look like the ones you took at age 25. Or the ones you wish you had taken. They will look authentically like yourself. They will tell a timeless story. They will be more complex, and hold your dynamic story. And most importantly, you will connect with them on a deeper level.
You will still look breathtaking. Frankly, who gives a shit. I will not modify your skin or retouch it so that you look like you are in your 30s again. I think that defeats the purpose of a boudoir photoshoot. But I would be willing to be that you will look extraordinary and confident. Boudoir for older women should embrace who you are and how life experience has transformed your body.
Boudoir photoshoots, indoors and outdoors can be physically demanding. However, they can be adjusted to your physical abilities. At ELI Boudoir, I have a ton of different pose ideas that range in physical difficulty. This is why I ask all of my clients to communicate their physical limitations ahead of time. With a beach photoshoot, it might require more planning to find a beach that does not require stairs. Similarly with outdoor locations, some have more rocky terrains than others. This can all be easily circumvented by choosing different outdoor shoot locations!

Absolutely not. There is no upper age limit. I photograph women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. Both in the studio and outdoors. Age is not a barrier here. These sessions are often some of my favorites. All people, especially older people, deserve photos of themselves they love. Boudoir for older women is impactful. Boudoir is for all women.
My studio is on the Westside of Los Angeles, about 10 minutes away from Culver City, Santa Monica, and Brentwood. To name a few of my favorite outdoor locations: El Matador Beach in Malibu, Placerita Canyon in Santa Clarita and assorted parks throughout the Greater Los Angeles area. There are infinite awesome locations in Los Angeles.
Of course it is. In fact it is more than okay. Boudoir is for older women who have mastectomy scars, reconstructed breasts, C-section scars, or have a range of other surgical histories. Truly it is for all women. How much of this you show in your images is entirely up to you. Some women choose to make their scars part of the story. Others prefer to work around them. It is up to you. It is your story, so you get to choose how it is told. Both are valid, and we'll talk through your preference before the session.
I had a mastectomy or a surgery that resulted in a significant scar. Is that okay?
